Fashion Calendar Research Database

The Fashion Calendar Research Database launched at the Archiving Fashion Conference: Mapping Fashion Collections on November 11, 2023 at FIT. As part of that conference, the Academic Conference Committee developed this resource: a list of archives, libraries, museum collections, and virtual collections that include fashion and/or textiles, and related materials across the globe. Using the mapping technology implemented for the FCRD, the "Fashion & Textile Collections Global Index and Map" is visualized on an interactive map. Over 39,000 pages from three periodicals published by Ruth Finley have been digitized and made available online for browsing. Information about the events listed in the Fashion Calendar—the who, what, when, where—has been extracted and parsed from each issue.
