Editorial and Moderation Policy
This page describes the BibSite Moderation policy. For information about how and what to submit to BibSite, as well as information about updating and removing submissions, please visit the How to Contribute page.
General Information about BibSite-Hosted Contributions
Submissions to BibSite should require a minimal amount of moderation. Material submitted to BibSite is expected to be factually accurate and of interest, relevance, and value to those interested in the study of material texts. It should be submitted in a form which is ready to mount on the site, without editorial intervention to the content. BibSite reserves the right to reject any submission, and BSA does not accept responsibility for the content of contributions. BibSite rejects or modifies contributions only in instances outlined in the policy below.
BibSite accepts the following materials, also called “works”:
- Conference papers and accompanying slides with commentary
PDF - Course syllabi
PDF - Teaching aids, worksheets, homework assignments and other pedagogical materials
PDF - Slides or image sets with commentary & complete image citations

Contributors are expected to observe generally accepted standards for originality of scholarly work and attribution of sources. Authors may submit updates and corrections of their own previously posted material, or request that their earlier contributions be deleted by contacting the BibSite administrator.
Contributors may only submit their own work. BibSite does not host materials held in copyright by third parties.
The posting of a bibliographic resource on BibSite does not imply endorsement by the BSA or the BibSite administrator, nor any assertion of the accuracy, validity, or originality of the material.
Submitting Images
Image-based works hosted on BibSite can include images photographed or otherwise created by the contributor and/or images in the public domain.
All image submissions must be accompanied by source documentation. Contributors should credit themselves as photographer and/or follow citation guidelines from the digital repository from which published images in the public domain were obtained.
BibSite User License
Contributors whose work will be hosted by BibSite are required to sign and comply with the BibSite License Agreement. By doing so, you permit the Society to make your work accessible on the BibSite platform through the Creative Commons license of their choice. Only Creative Commons licenses are permitted.
This does not apply to external resources submitted for indexing.
Indexing Resources on BibSite
BibSite also indexes links to external websites containing text, image- or data-sets, and pedagogical materials. Contributors can submit such links with accompanying metadata for inclusion on BibSite, pending review by the Editorial Board.
The posting of a bibliographic resource on BibSite does not imply endorsement by the BSA or the BibSite administrator, nor any assertion of the accuracy, validity, or originality of the material.
Contributors submitting external websites for indexing are not required to complete the BibSite User License Agreement.
