FAQ

Who runs BibSite?

BibSite is a project of the Bibliographical Society of America (BSA). BSA is the oldest scholarly society in North America dedicated to the study of books and manuscripts as physical objects. The Society pursues its mission through a broad array of activities, including events and lectures, the New Scholars Program, and fellowship programs, as well as the publishing of books and the Papers of the Bibliographical Society of America (PBSA), North America’s leading bibliographical journal. Membership in the Society is open to all those interested in bibliographical problems and projects, and its membership includes bibliographers, librarians, professors, students, booksellers, and collectors worldwide.

BibSite was founded c. 2000 to provide a place for “work-in-progress” materials created by bibliographers — updates, corrigenda, addenda, etc. — and for the general collaborative sharing of resources. In 2020 the Society received a grant from the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation, allowing us to build BibSite from a static page listing resources and contributors into a more expansive repository.

The new site launched in April 2022, with the hopes of growing and expanding into the future.

How can I contribute resources?

All are welcome to contribute resources to BibSite. Please see the Contribute and Editorial & Moderation Policy pages for more details.

Such requests will be acknowledged and acted upon in no more than 14 business days.
